Can you believe we are already one third of the way through 2013! This year is flying by!

This is what’s been happening this month at SCO:

BRW Fast Starters 2013

Last Wednesday night we travelled down to Melbourne to attend the 2013 BRW Fast Starters awards.

It was a great night out, we met a lot of interesting and talented people and we had a lot of fun!

The Fast Starters awards recognise the top 100 startup companies in Australia and this year SCO Recruitment came in 4th place!

This was a fantastic achievement and was an improvement over our ranking of 19th place last year! It was a privilege to be a part of such a great award.

Perth Tender

SCO Recruitment has recently been successful in winning a tender for the Eastern Metropolitan Regional Council (EMRC) in Perth, allowing us to provide labour hire to six of their member Councils.

The Councils are located in Perth’s Eastern suburbs and include the Town of Bassendean, City of Bayswater, City of Belmont, Shire of Kalamunda, Shire of Mundaring and the City of Swan.

We have already received a number of orders through the contract and we are looking forward to building our relationships with these Councils over the coming months.

Roy Byers

Ron is currently working out at Parramatta Council and his supervisors have been very happy with his performance.

Jennifer Ronquillo

Jennifer is working at one of our newer clients, Big Sister, and has been very reliable, punctual and always has a positive attitude.

Well done Roy and Jennifer and keep up the great work! We’ll be sending you both a double pass to the movies!

WH&S – Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

The Work Health and Safety Act 2011 requires that Persons Conducting Business (PCBUs) take reasonable and practical steps to protect their workers from workplace hazards. This includes providing appropriate PPE and ensuring it is being used for tasks it is designed for.

Depending on your role, required PPE may include safety glasses, protective gloves, ear plugs and hi-vis clothing.

Selecting PPE

  • When selecting PPE, fit and comfort should be a priority
  • Improperly fitted PPE may in fact cause more harm than good
  • All PPE must meet AS/NZ standards for your occupation

If you are in any doubt as to what PPE is required for your role, please contact your supervisor or SCO Account Manager.


This is another reminder that all timesheets are due each Monday by 10:00am.

Our employees work hard and we want to make sure they are getting paid on time for the hours they work each week.
